Because I don’t wear a uniform to school, people think I’m a teacher. haha. That’s a laugh-off. Me, a teacher. It becomes evident at times when people assume I’m their instructor when they see me holding a planner with my Sunday attire. It’s business casual on Monday to Thursday at work so sometimes I come to school in full formal gear. Sans the attention, everything would’ve been alright. That’s why I do my best to just cover my shirt with a jacket or so. But sometimes I can’t help throwing in a sneaker or two to be more comfortable since I still have my last PE class here.
I sometimes have the thought of having to wear our uniform just so I can continue wearing it at the office, haha.
Going back to being a teacher, it’s actually not that far from reality if I wanted to pursue education. But I’m too preoccupied with a lot of things right now. I used to like being a teacher in grade school because I wanted to receive as many presents as I could from parents of pupils –> later that I realized that it was too shallow of a reason. Now, I just like helping people out. It’s just that I can’t guarantee anybody that they’ll learn something from me. hehe.
Coincidentally, my colleagues and I discussed about them pursuing and finishing 18 (or 24 0r 32)units so they can take the board exam for education in order for them to get a license to teach.
They also informed me that I could take that path as well since the only requirement is to have finished 2 years of college units plus the additional 18. I wondered how come I never knew that (stupid thought; of course Ed, it’s because you didn’t ask, duh!).
It gave me more options, even if I don’t have any plans of becoming a teacher, it’s an added thought to the brain. But still, I can try to pass off as one, but I probably just have great respect for the profession cause I think one should really be an expert of the field that was chosen before you can become a teacher; and me assuming such post without that much knowledge would totally degrade the dedication that most (or some) give. I’d rather leave dignity where it should be.
it’s really fulfilling to be a teacher. but it’s also very tiring. the compensation for all the hard work is not in the financial aspect, but rather in the lives you’ve touched.
hope you do get to finish your schooling and not get too tired from working.
good luck!
Alem: hope I could finish it too, if I’m not too tired and if I still have the tolerance to conform to the school’s standards
